challenge
noun
a call or summons to engage in any contest, as of skill, strength, etc.

If you’ve known me for a while, you might have realized that I really love a creative challenge. My main business involves creating jewelry and all things book inspired, which I LOVE to do, but I also really enjoy creating displays for in store shopping or quick set up events. I love designing the packaging for online orders, the marketing designs and the photography for social media.
Of course I certainly wouldn’t say I’ve mastered any of these, but I’m always looking for a bigger challenge.

In the fall of 2018, after talking to Rachaad from Cream City Print Lounge about hosting our own makers market featuring local artists from the Milwaukee creative community,
MKE Local Market was born. Our first three events had just enough room for less than 20 artists, but this year, in 2021, we secured a gorgeous new venue with room for twice that. It was a lot of moving pieces to coordinate and a lot of mental gymnastics to pull it all together, but wow, did it turn out ahhhhmazing!
We’re already brainstorming the next one!

In spring of 2019, my friends at The Bee’s Knees Homestead asked me to take on the Market Manager role of the Stonewood Village Makers Market. I had that first MKE Local Market under my belt at that point and was ready to take it on. I got to step in to something they had already started and hit the ground running with all of my ideas for organizing, curating and promoting the market.

With over 60 local artists, food trucks and live music, this was my biggest challenge yet! We’ve increased attendance with each market and I’m so excited to see how much more we can grow.

It’s absolutely a team effort to pull off each market, and each time we do it I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished!
I’m looking forward to 2022 and all my crazy big ideas that are sure to come with it!
